Darker evenings in autumn are all for planning your space with cozy, comforting layering. Distressed white and wood with touches of wool, some warm lighting and scented candles...getting your home ready for winter, all white doesn't have to mean cold.
The first thing to do is look at your furniture layout? Does it make the best use of space? Can you re-arrange it to make the space more inviting? Does your current furniture ooze cosy? Large and oversized cushions entice you to curl up on a cold winter's day. Think about the materials you use...soft linens, velvets and wool will add texture and warmth to any room, even if they are all white.

Flooring is a key element in any home. If you are lucky enough to have a wood floor, you're already halfway there as wood will always add warmth, depending on the colour. As a texture, wood can be an absorber of light, so make sure you add more lighting.

Add a little contrast... making sure your all white room doesn't look too flat; adding some contrast can give interest to a room and make it more dimensional. Biscuit colours and white go hand in hand in this tranquil living room, adding warmth and rich texture. Think about adding some conversational pieces in your accessories: the more unusual, the better!
